Custom Design and Architecture of MMORPG Game on Windows, .NET and DotNetNuke

Custom MMORPG Design

The Challenge

Rapidly taking the Battle Messenger game vision from concept to a well architected and documented software development project as well as seeking a qualified software development partner and coming up with the right technologies to deliver a casual gaming experience with familiar MMORPG behavior and features.

The Solution

We combined the portal platform features of DotNetNuke 5.x and melded it with several custom database applications to support the RPG elements.

We built some elements as asp.net web applications, and the main game client as a WPF, WCF smart client. Leveraging SQL 2008 replication allowed us to plan for scalability and architect a portal server / game server topology platform.

The Benefits

By investing in Code Authority’s well known and industry leading approach to thorough software design and our knowledge of emerging technology platforms, and our continued guidance as a development manager and hosting partner, Azul expects to launch their game in Q1 2010.
