The Challenge

The client had multiple gaming sites capturing data manually into Excel files and emailing them into management each day.

The spreadsheets had checks and balances rules built into them, but once stored posed a poor datasource for reporting or mining.

The client had dedicated personnel assigned the job of reviewing the Excel files each day.

The Solution

We proposed a web application to be used daily by all site personnel with checks and balances rules used to enforce the accounting criteria management was looking to analyze.

We also used extensive SSRS reporting on the Management and Administrative backend view.

The Benefits

The client was able to build an application which allowed them to centralize a daily dataset across all locations, as well as build a historical performance history.

This was not possible before with each site's data residing in separate Excel files. Over time the data will be moved into a datawarehouse for more extensive mining and business intelligence.
